Drahoslav Gric comes from the small village of Šošůvka in the Moravian Karst. After completing five years of study at the Elementary Art School in Blansko, he enrolled at the Brno Conservatory, where he studied organ under Prof. Zdeněk Nováček. He graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague under the guidance of Prof. Jaroslav Tůma. He has completed a number of courses with leading international organists. As part of the Erasmus program, he studied in Berlin with Paolo Crivellaro. He participated in organ competitions in Opava (2004) and Brno (2007), where he won second prizes. His greatest achievement was winning the August Gottfried Ritter International Organ Competition in Magdeburg, Germany (2008). He serves as a liturgical organist in Prague’s churches. He performs in concerts in the Czech Republic and abroad as both a soloist and a chamber musician. He appears at international music festivals. He collaborates with leading Czech orchestras and choirs. He is also active as a teacher and composes and arranges music.
