Mezzo-soprano Barbora de Nunes-Cambraia, nominated for the 2016 Thalia Award for her title role in Carmen, is unique for her specific, hard-to-classify voice type called Falcon, which is characterized by a mezzo-soprano color and tessitura typical of a dramatic soprano.
Barbora de Nunes-Cambraia received her musical education at the Prague Conservatory, the Pilsen Conservatory, and at a number of master classes at home and abroad. Her rich repertoire includes not only opera roles, but also song, symphonic, sacred, and oratorio works. She is also fond of contemporary music, which testifies to the unique versatility of this artist. Since September 2015, she has been successfully teaching solo singing at the Conservatory in Teplice. She has led masterclasses at the conservatory in Akko, Israel, and in Brazil, where she returns regularly.
