Junek

On graduating from the Prague Conservatory, violinist Jakub Junek embarked on studies at the Moscow State Conservatory of P. I. Tchaikovsky in the class of E. D. Grach and the University of Music and Arts in Vienna with prof. J. Pospíchal. Today he is a proud postgraduate student of one of the most renowned Czech violinists Bohuslav Matoušek at the Music Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

Jakub Junek has taken part in many international competitions. He became an absolute winner of the International Czech Radio contest “Concertino Praga” and the national Czech Conservatories contest in Teplice, got 2nd prize at the International Interpretation Competition “Beethoven’s Hradec”, made it to the finals of the International Violin Competition “Violine in Dresden” and won 2nd prize as well as the laureate award at the A. I. Yampolsky International Competition in Moscow, later on became laureate of Bohuslav Martinů Competition as well.
