Vratislav Vlna studied the oboe at the Prague Conservatory under prof. František Kimel and at the Prague Academy of Music under prof. Jiří Mihule. He also participated at the master classes in Germany (Bonn 1993) and in Switzerland (Vevey 1993) and he is the winner of the international broadcast competition Concertino Praga 1992.
Since the 1996 he has been the first oboist in the Opera Orchestra of National Theatre in Prague and simultaneously since the 1999 he has collaborated as a Solo-Oboist with the Prague Chamber Orchestra, Solistes Européens Luxemburg and with the Virtuosi di Praga. As a soloist he appeares regularly together with the Virtuosi di Praga and the Prague String Orchestra, with the Pilsen Philharmonic Orchestra and with the Opera Orchestra of National Theatre.
